Founder / Principal Consultant - Kathy Judge

About Kathy

I’m Kathy Judge, and I founded Judge Consulting Works after more than 25 years working across aged care including home care, hospital geriatric outreach services, and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. My work is grounded in deep, hands‑on experience and a genuine understanding of what participants, families, and care teams face every day. I bring a practical, real‑world perspective shaped by decades of directly supporting people and leading teams across a rapidly changing sector.

  • My background spans clinical nursing, community services, organisational leadership, and national regulatory roles. I’ve held senior positions in care delivery and within the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, where I provided clinical leadership, strengthened governance frameworks, and supported complex regulatory decision‑making.

Across these roles, I’ve helped organisations navigate sector reforms, redesign services, respond to major risks, and build stronger systems of care. I understand not just the theory of quality and safety but the operational realities of delivering it every day.

  • Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals, families, and care teams through difficult and often emotional moments—navigating incidents, crises, complex clinical issues, and significant life decisions.

In these situations, I’ve seen how powerful a calm, independent presence can be. Someone who listens, steadies the situation, and brings clarity when things feel overwhelming. This grounded, practical approach is at the heart of how I work today.

  • While taking on leadership and governance responsibilities, I’ve remained closely connected to frontline clinical practice across aged care and health settings. Working alongside clinicians has sharpened my understanding of clinical decision‑making, risk, communication, and the pressures teams face.

This blend of clinical and operational experience allows me to bridge perspectives—translating regulatory expectations into workable solutions, and helping teams make safer, clearer decisions in the real world.
